"My husband and I usually spend Christmas with my family in Italy, in a small town north of Venice, about an hour's drive from the mountains where I go skiing every year. It gets pretty cold, so I'll be keeping warm in a big jumper. I have a good selection of vintage ones - I bought this one from the vintage section at Topshop about a month ago. It's from the Eighties; I like it because the lace flowers remind me of the lace in my own dresses. I have my eye on a really cool jumper from Sister by Sibling - it's a mix of leopard and Fair Isle print.

"The jumper is part of my day-to-day uniform, along with black jeans - always from Acne, as they fit me perfectly - and ankle boots. I don't have much in my wardrobe, it's quite compact. The few things I do own, I wear for years.

"In Italy, Christmas Eve is celebrated, too. We'll be going to a dinner party thrown by one of our friends, and it's usually a dressier affair. I'll probably wear one of my lace dresses, because they are such easy pieces to wear. I've always liked the longer length, I find it super-feminine, the way it elongates the silhouette. I don't add jewellery, or change my hair or make-up, partly because I'm so useless. I don't try with my hair because I know it will be a disaster. I'll spend three minutes max on my make-up, and I have three tools: foundation, eyeliner and an eyebrow pencil. I don't believe in the big transformation for evening - I think that a woman should look effortlessly beautiful at all times."
