Local models hoping to raise £2000 for charity
MODELs of all ages strutted their stuff for charity last week when the Paxton House’s Picture Gallery was transformed into a catwalk in aid of Action Medical Research.
The event was organised jointly by the local branch of the charity, which is celebrating its 60th birthday this year and the staff of Berwick bridal boutique Bella B.
A crowd of around 150 gathered in the Gallery for the fundraiser and were treated to a glass of wine before the show and a slap up meal afterwards.
As branch chair person, Belford’s Ros Reay was the woman at the helm of proceedings and said although organising a fashion show was a very different challenge it was one she very much enjoyed.
“We’re always looking at new ways to raise money and awareness for Action Medical Research and I thought a fashion show would appeal to a lot of women and some men,” she explained.
“We’ve done lunches; bridge drives and coffee mornings in the past but I’d say the fashion show was the most ambitious thing we’ve done to date. It was also the first time we’ve used Paxton House for an event and we couldn’t have asked for a better venue.
